Community Living Huntsville is passionate about advancing inclusion for people who live with developmental disabilities in Muskoka. This position would oversee supervisors responsible for teams of Direct Support Professionals who support adults with developmental disabilities by providing personal assistance with day-to-day activities.
The Position:
Your contributions will include:
  • growing the skills of others through mentoring and coaching to ensure excellent service for the people receiving services
  • Creating action plans to move the strategic goals of the organization forward in line with funder directives
  • Ensuring quality standards for supports, processes and assets within accountable programs
  • Working collaboratively across the organization to support a positive employee experience
  • Overseeing the preparation of staff schedules using scheduling software and, when necessary, adjusting schedules as needed to ensure coverage of vacant shifts
  • Approving staff time cards for your direct reports and making payroll adjustments as needed
  • Being part of the on-call rotation as backup to the on-call team
  • Willingness and availability to cover front-line shifts in the event of emergencies

Qualifications
  • Completion of relevant degree or diploma in social service or human service sector, preferably relating to people with disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ demonstrated effective supervision in a human service agency preferably in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge and commitment to the principles of inclusion and the disability rights movement
  • Commitment to individualized approaches to service delivery and accountability
  • Commitment to Community Living Huntsville’s goals and vision
  • Demonstrated experience developing the capacity of others
  • Ability to prioritize own work and hold others accountable for assigned work
  • Exceptional skills at asking questions to understand challenges and develop solutions to overcome them
  • A history of building positive relationships both internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to understand broad organizational goals and balance the priorities within the programs you oversee with the organization’s overall goals and resources
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and operational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Staff scheduling experience including the use of scheduling software
  • Finance and budget management experience, including experience budgeting for programs and determining recommendations for future budgets
  • Strong familiarity with quality assurance measures and personal outcome measures
  • Excellent oral, written and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driver’s abstract and reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment
