NORTH MUSKOKA – You can make a difference on Giving Tuesday 2021 for children and adults with developmental disabilities in North Muskoka.

“Could you imagine a community where everyone feels included?” says Jennifer Jerrett, Community Engagement Specialist for Community Living Huntsville. “Giving to Community Living Huntsville through Giving Tuesday can make that happen.”

The annual day of giving, which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, urges people to direct their money instead to nonprofits for meaningful change. It falls on November 30 in 2021.

“Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to build a stronger, more inclusive community,” says Jerrett. “Community Living Huntsville supports and advocates alongside more than 300 people with developmental disabilities and their families to grow a community where everyone can live with dignity, share in every element of living, and have equal opportunity to participate.”

She notes many children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities and their families struggled with isolation and exclusion even before the pandemic struck. While strides for disability rights, inclusion, and community involvement have changed lives over decades, the COVID-19 pandemic underscored how much is needed now ‑- and how much more is yet to be done.

Your contributions at clhuntsville.ca for Giving Tuesday 2021 will support our Rev Up Independence Donation Drive for a new accessible vehicle, our Pathways Program for adults who might otherwise fall through the cracks, or our annual Community Living Huntsville Children’s Christmas Toy Drive. “Your donation makes a difference in your community,” says Jerrett. “You can help people right here, right now.”

Community Living Huntsville is a not-for-profit, registered charity that supports and advocates alongside people with developmental disabilities to live, work, and play in unique and purposeful ways in North Muskoka.
