Building Better Futures

18 Main Street West Renovation

“These renovations will breathe new life into this aging home and provide better opportunities for people to live as included community members where everyone belongs, while improving accessibility and meeting building standards.”

– Suzanne Willett
Executive Director

A Home. A Future. A Community Effort.

For years, our organization has been investing in disability-inclusive housing solutions that promote dignity and community belonging for people with developmental disabilities.

A significant grant has helped launch a vital renovation project for our property at 18 Main Street West – but the work isn't finished.

Your donation will help create safe, affordable, and accessible housing for people who would otherwise have nowhere to live.

About the Project

The renovation will create:

    • Four apartments (one fully accessible)
    • Emergency response bedroom
    • Shared kitchen
    • Office space

After a competitive process, we have contracted BestLife Group to manage design, permits, approvals, and construction.

The construction timeline for this $1.2-million project is June 2026 to March 2027.

Why We Need You

This renovation is possible thanks to a $345,000 grant provided by the Government of Canada via Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy in the Rural and Remote Homelessness stream, and administered by United Way Simcoe Muskoka – and our community’s long-standing support.

But we still need to raise roughly $500,000.

Every donation helps bring us one step closer to completing this important project.
