Signs pop up in downtown Huntsville for Community Living Month

A smiling woman stands on a sidewalk along the main street of a small town, Huntsville, and holds a sign that reads, "Community Living Month" written in blue and green letters.

Jennifer Jerrett, Community Engagement Specialist for Community Living Huntsville, encourages everyone to visit downtown Huntsville to check out the Community Living Month signs proudly displayed in nearly 30 storefronts throughout May 2025 – and support local! What is blue and green and supporting disability inclusion in May 2025? Downtown Huntsville!

Throughout May, around 30 Downtown Huntsville BIA members are proudly displaying our Community Living Month signs in their windows. The blue-and-green signs celebrate a community where people with and without disabilities can live side-by-side as respected, included, and contributing community members.

Each one is also a reminder that championing inclusion is a shared responsibility.

The support from Downtown Huntsville BIA members has been incredible. So many businesses wanted to join in that we ran out of signs! This shows how much Huntsville businesses and residents care about creating a welcoming environment for people with disabilities. It is a strong message that we are stronger together.
